Petland
pet counselors work with members of the local community to
place litters of homeless kittens. As part of this program,
Petland store operators make available their highly visible
Petland display windows to aid in the placement of homeless
pets.
The Adopt-A-Pet kittens are examined by a veterinarian and
given a fecal exam and a feline leukemia test. In most cases,
the Adopt-A-Pet kittens at Petland receive initial vaccinations.
Kittens covered under the Petland 14-day Health Warranty and
the 3-year Warranty covering congenital and hereditary conditions.
Also it is Petland's goal to see that Adopt-A-Pets are spayed
and neutered.
Petland's Adopt-A-Pet program has been a tremendous success.
It also is growing stronger day by day as new Petland stores
open with the program. More than 20,000 homeless kittens/cats
dogs were placed by Petland in 2003, according to an Adopt-A-Pet
program survey. |
