The earliest known domestic cats date back to early Egypt
in the year 2500 B.C. Cats come in a variety of shapes, sizes,
and colors, and owning a cat can be a very rewarding experience.
They are quite adaptable, at home in an apartment or a house,
and make excellent pets for anyone, from the busy executive
to the family with children. At Petland, our people are trained
to assist you in selecting and caring for a cat that suits
you and your family.
There are over 30 recognized breeds of cats from the Egyptian
Mau (dating back to ancient Egypt), the Persian, the Siamese,
the Russian Blues, and the Himalayans, up through the present
day American Shorthairs.
At Petland our buyers spend lots of time and effort to obtain
good looking kittens with agreeable personalities, and they
take every precaution to see that the kittens are sound and
healthy.
Once a kitten gets here he is bathed, put on a nourishing
diet, and begins the important period in his life we call
"socialization." The kitten's mother can teach him
lots of things. But, once we get them here, we begin teaching
our kittens how to become pets. Diets are closely monitored,
and hygiene is scrupulously maintained. Our people are cat
lovers. And because they are, they are constantly handling
and playing with all the kittens in our store. When we place
our kittens on our carpeted kitty playground we are inviting
every cat lover to pet and cuddle as much as they want. We
realize this contributes to the kitten's socialization, and
that every kitten's temperament is improved by it. We believe
our kittens make better pets!
Our store veterinarian serves as each kitten's "pediatrician,"
and we recommend you take your kitten to your own vet so he
can pick up where ours left off. If you or your vet have any
questions concerning your kitten's health or well-being, don't
hesitate to call us. Part of our helping you adopt the right
kitten is the pleasure we get from the happiness of you and
your pet.
In order to provide a happy, healthy atmosphere for your
