Petland Novi opens doors to retired Greyhounds
Novi, MI, January 17, 2012) – The Petland store in Twelve Oaks Mall is pleased to announce a new partnership with GRACE (Greyhound Retirement Adoption Care and Education). GRACE is an all-volunteer organization that works to find permanent homes for retired racing greyhounds.
Beginning February 12th, the greyhound rescue will be at Petland Novi from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and will host adoption meet and greets on the second Sunday of every month. The group will bring three to five retired greyhounds each visit.
Petland Novi and Petkey will be offering a complimentary protection package to anyone who adopts a greyhound as a result of the meet and greet. The package includes Amber-Alert type protection from HelpMeFindMyPet.com and AKC’s Companion Animal Recovery System. They will also be offering an AKC Canine Partner registration and 60 days worth of health insurance to the adopted greyhounds. The packages are a combined value of over $250.
“Placing homeless pets is a valuable service to our community. I am so excited to welcome GRACE to our store and we are thrilled with the opportunity to help find homes for these beautiful greyhounds,” said Petland Novi owner Randy Horowitz.
